Post Summer Detox Guide: Reducing Acidity

Do you have any of the below?

  • Acidity
  • Acid reflux
  • Bloating
  • Heartburn

If you have one or more of the above, it is a good indicator that your pH level is off and you are suffering from acidity. Let's look at what your pH level means; your body has mechanisms to support its pH levels being around 7.4 so it functions optimally, however when it can't stay there your body gets out of balance and you can feel unwell. Your pH levels drop and you get more acidic. The consequences of that acidity are myriad and start small, such as the list above, and if left unchecked and allowed to continue, they can create deeper and more serious illnesses. People suffering from cancer, for example, have been shown to have low pH levels.

So Why Reduce Acidity?

Really life is about context. If I asked you to go to Paris and your SatNav was set to Cardiff, it would be quite difficult to get to Paris wouldn't it?  And you'd be forgiven for giving up half way there! This is what modern day health is like.  Do you find yourself saying the following phrases [these are real quotes from Nosh Detox clients]:

"I find it hard to create sustainable change"

"I didn't keep up my healthy eating"

"I struggle with starting a diet and sticking to it - I loose motivation and end up slacking"

"I tried not to drink alcohol or eat processed foods, I think I failed down to lifestyle"

For the vast majority of us we live highly stressful, time-poor, pressure-rich lives; the perfect circumstances for creating acidity. And once you are out of balance and acidic, nothing works at all. It's like a pebble in an ocean. Well-meaning but ineffectual. You need to fix your issues with acidity before you can fix anything else.

After nearly a decade of doing this job, and helping over 15,000 people, one thing that I have understood clearly is that if you start with the right foundation not only is anything possible, it can also be easy. Whether we are trying to diet, stop drinking, eat better, or change our habits, we are doomed to failure again and again because we start from an acidic, out of balance environment. Everything snowballs so that nothing we are doing works or only partially works and we slip back and think 'oh what's the use!'  before giving up. But the right foundation for over 80% of the body's change is to be alkaline.  It's like a magic switch.

So How Do I Do it?

Correct your pH balance and relieve stress, help remove toxins out of the body and support your immune system. The closer your pH is to 7.35-7.45 the better your level of well-being and good health.

INCREASED PAIN
