Each suite has been uniquely designed with a rustic chic aesthetic, and each also has indoor and outdoor sleeping and living spaces – Dwarika’s wants you to get as close to nature as possible in every way. There is the choice between a junior suite, executive suite and royal suite.
The Pancha Kosha Himalayan Spa is an integral part of the resort, inspired by a blend of Vedic Philosophy and Buddhist Medicine. Like the rest of the resort the spa is focused on the complete harmony and wellbeing of the individual. There are a wide range of activities and treatments on offer, and the spa also features:
- Himalayan Salt Room – beneficiary for the respiratory system in particular, Himalayan rock salt is the purest form of salt on earth
- Meditation Maze - best experienced soon after sunrise, the maze helps you to establish inner balance and deepen your powers of concentration therefore countering mental fatigue
- Chakra Sound Chambers – Chakras are centres of energy responsible for distributing energy around the body, a central aspect of yogic philosophy and Buddhist medicine. There are seven chambers, one for every Chakra present in the human body
- Navagraha Vana – aka the garden of the nine planets, it captures the cosmic energy of the planets. Consultation with an astrological master can be arranged upon request
Cuisine is a large part of the Dwarika’s experience; their philosophy is that in order to maintain a balanced body and mind we need to be nourished in the right way. All food is prepared with fresh local ingredients (largely from their own organic farm), staying as true to nature as possible. There are three restaurants:

Zen Buddhist cuisine based on the diet that was originally followed by monks in training. The five tastes (hot, sour, sweet, bitter and salty) are combined with the five colours (red, white, black, green, yellow), and five ways of cooking (fresh, boiling, roasting, steaming and frying) to satisfy one’s appetite in a disciplined and nutritious way.

Alongside these more creative activities, meditation is also considered an important part of life at Dwarika’s and guests are encouraged to partake at locations around the resort, whether in privacy, amongst nature, or in the meditation maze.
When it comes to the body yoga is the primary physical activity that is offered at Dwarika’s, but you will also find that hikes and nature walks are a popular form of gentle exercise here that allow you to immerse yourself in the resort’s beautiful natural surroundings.
There are also cookery lessons offered so if you have enjoyed the delicious and natural meals served at the resort, you can learn how to recreate them yourself and continue to enjoy them long after you have returned home.

Dwarika’s embraces the rustic chic aesthetic – nothing is imported except for the matresses, all materials are locally sourced and hand made. Owner Sangita Shrestha designed every part of the resort in collaboration with Hindu and Buddhist masters to maximise spirituality and relaxation. Set in Dhulikhel, only an hour from the capital of Kathmandu, you’ll feel like you’re in another world when visiting Dwarika’s.
